Asos launches 'try before you buy' option on app

We’ve all done it. You buy a load of clothes online only to find they don’t fit and you have to wait what seems like an eternity for the cash to make its way back into your bank account.
But online fashion retailer ASOS is now offering shoppers the chance to “try before you buy” as it looks to keep up with the likes of Miss Selfridge and Topshop, which already offer a similar service.

Customers will be able to place an order, try everything on at home and send back the items they don’t like, paying only for what they keep within 30 days of their order being dispatched, with no fees or interest.

Asos spokesman have stated that they are constantly looking for new ways to improve the ASOS experience for our 15.4 million customers around the world. They know people love the option of paying later only for the things they keep, and are excited to introduce this for customers shopping on our app in the UK.

The new service – which has already been launched successfully in Germany, Austria, Finland, Sweden and Norway – will be available via the retailer’s app, through the Klarna Pay Later tool. Customers will need to be 18 years of age and have a mobile number, email and UK residential address.

The news comes a day after ASOS announced a same-day delivery option for its London customers, available on orders placed before 10am Sunday to Friday at a cost of £12.95. The retailer plans to roll out the same-day delivery service in major cities around the UK in the coming months.
